The A1s are the people walking a child path, with a focus on joy and exploration. Whether they like the terminology or not, these people have a very youthful, child-like attitude towards life. And like young children, they really enjoy being "mommied" and "daddied", much more so than the other LPAs. They need it to grow and explore in a healthy way, and if they do not get it, they often get stuck.
The A3s, people with a strong focus on parenting and nurturing and guiding others, tend to miss this component of the A1s. They themselves do not need, or like, to be extensively parented. As a result they tend to give others the amount of parenting that an A3 would be comfortable with, rather than the amount or type of parenting that they need.
If you try to babysit an A3, watch everything they do, and say "Oh, good job, you're so wonderful!" every time they do something, the A3 would dislike it. A1s, on the other hand, really enjoy it like a child would, and in fact need it to grow and be happy.
