Science and the unexplored

One of the basic tangents of science is to measure that which is measurable and find out how to measure that which is not. So a true scientist will celebrate the unexplored. At the same time, they are deeply bothered by the unexplored. Were they at peace with the mystery, they'd be monks! Scientists have a somewhat obsessive need to explain, to make it make sense, they get really uncomfortable when it doesn't.

So you can't blame scientists for being uncomfortable with this whole new colour experience. They can't explain it. These new things, they break the rules. They go against current understanding of how the world works, of the underlying universal "laws".

Either way within a generation it will be sorted, and science will have their explanation. If there's something new, it's going to be fascinating, there's going to be all sorts of wild stuff to play with.
